It was a week long, amazing, undersea adventure filled with the ever-flowing, never ending love of God at SCUBA VBS 2024! Our Bible Buddies - Tad, Finnley, Fisher, Waylon and Octavia helped to teach our daily Bible Points and Bible Verses. They reminded us throughout the week that:
- God is a friend who is real.
- God is a friend who loves.
- God is a friend we can trust.
- God is a friend forever.
- God is a friend for everyone.
There were 84 kids and 47 volunteers (14 youth volunteers included) in attendance this year! Each night we started out in the sanctuary for Sing and Play Splash. After a skit with our very own silly scuba diver, Sydney Shores, we sang songs of praise and met our Bible Buddies. The next part of the evening, the crews rotated between 4 stations - Reef Rec games, Tidal Treats (snack), Imagination Station and Bible Adventures. Each station incorporated our underwater theme and/or the Bible Lesson for that particular night. We came back together for Fin-tastic Finale in the sanctuary where we wrapped up the night with cool experiments and more singing!
Our final night was a little different this year - we invited all participants, volunteers and families to celebrate in the church yard with a homemade foam machine (thanks Nick Wolfe!), hotdogs and cupcakes! It was an absolute blast!
Everyone enjoyed the week - it was apparent by the smiles, the joyful singing, the dancing, and the upbeat energy throughout the church building!
Each year we raise money for a worldwide mission - this year we raised $350 to donate through Operation Kid to Kid. This donation will help bless countless families in Honduras, helping them have access to one of life’s most basic resources- clean water!
